Information on local places to stay

Local hotels fall into two main categories:

• Hotels in Clemmons, NC -- These are located at Interstate 40 Exit 184, approximately 10 miles west of Winston-Salem.  They're about half a mile from our studio, and are close to a variety of restaurants.

• Hotels near Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem, NC -- These tend to be newer than the ones in Clemmons, and are approximately 10 minutes drive from our studio.  Any hotels you choose will be close to restaurants and shopping.  The Fairfield Inn offers a $79 per night rate if you mention "Warm Glass" when booking directly with the hotel.

The list below summarizes the major hotels and gives links to their websites.  We also included a few local bed and breakfast, non-chain places for those who are interested.

Hotels in Clemmons, NC -- all located at Interstate 40 Exit 184, 1/2 mile from our studio

• Holiday Inn Express -- a bit lower quality than typical Holiday Inn Express, but serviceable

• Super 8 Clemmons -- basic budget hotel, allows small pets

• Village Inn Golf and Conference Center -- older hotel, formerly a Ramada Inn

Hanes Mall hotels in Winston-Salem, NC -- all located near Hanes Shopping Mall, 10 minutes from studio

All of these hotels are major chain hotels, and with the exception of the Days Inn all are fairly recent construction.

Bed and Breakfasts and Country Inns in Winston-Salem area

• Manor House -- located in Tanglewood Park, closest to our studio

• Shaffner House -- close to Old Salem, downtown Winston-Salem

• Summit Street Bed and Breakfast -- located in West End Historic District of Winston-Salem

• Zevely Inn -- located in Old Salem Historic District
