: Liam,

I am the US rep for Hoaf Speedburn kilns. I have been selling them since I at their factory in Holland back in 1986. These are extraordinary kilns. They are used for both fusing and painting throughout Europe. In the states, it is mainly painters and large glass benders that use these kilns. There are quite a few in the 5 x 8 range, or larger in the US. The key with the large format kiln is to use the Bentrup controller.

If you were just interested in painting, then the series III kilns would be perfect for you. They use radiant heat burners, so the air is moving, thus the rapid firing cycles. There is some fuel loss out the vents, but still the average firing only costs 7 cents. The cycle time is 45 minute from cold to cold and these things are built like a tank. It is not uncommon to find 20 year old kilns still cranking on a daily bases.

The prices start at $3,000 US for a 16 x16 plus freight. I can usually have one to you in about 15 days. If you want any more info, please give me a call 503-538-5281 or Email.
